My name is Carly Griffin and I have been at Glenwood Center for10 years. During that time I have worked in the Infant Room, Green Room, Sunshine Room and Purple Room. I am currently a Head Start Teacher with the Playful Piglets. I have obtained an Associate of Arts Degree from Columbus State Community College, my Bachelor of Science Degree in Cross-Disciplinary Studies from Ohio Dominican University, and in 2013 completed the process to obtain my Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. I enjoy working at Glenwood because I feel connected to the families and enjoy watching the children as they grow and change. My own children have also attended the center and I think this helps motivate me to work hard to improve the quality of care at the center for all of the children who attend it.
Hello, my name is Penny Cash. I am a Head Start Teacher in the Purple Room – now called Playful Piglets. I have lived in Ohio all my life (which is really hard being a Michigan fan!). I graduated from Westland High School in June 1999. I have been in the Early Childhood Education field for the past 12 years, six of which have been here at Glenwood.
One thing that hasn’t changed over the year is the joy I get in playing a positive role in the lives of children I have encountered throughout the years. I have two amazing children of my own, Hailey who is 14 and Aiden who just turned 6. We enjoy spending most of our time together; taking walks, playing outside, reading books or playing board games. Family is very important to me and I try to include all of my little friends as well for they are part of my family too!
My name is Michele Bird. I have working in Childcare for over 20 years. I enjoy working with children. I have two older daughters and have been married for over 20 years. In my free time I love to go camping and I love being with my family.
